Mirror Sight Book Review
Forced into the future after the events of the previous novel, Karigan finds herself alone in a world that is no longer recognizable. A world that has tainted magic and stripped away the rights of many. As she realizes her world is now a far piece of the past, she must fight to return to her own time. For if she does not, there is no changing what happens to Sacoridia.
Kristen Britain sets the stage for a bleak future if Karigan should fail to return to the past. The dark steampunk world Karigan finds herself in is cruel to all but those who the emperor favors. And even his trusted few may face his wrath if he so chooses. And while there will be small glimpses into Karigan’s time frame, the story will remain mostly focused on Karigan uncovering the darker sides of the new world.
Karigan will also undergo quite the character development in Mirror Sight. In a world where women are not seen as equals, she is forced into hiding. Though as readers have come to know from Karigan, she will not let anyone hold her back from saving those she cares about. Without her trusted allies, she is forced to move into action on her own utilizing all the skills she has attained throughout the previous novels. And while she gains a few allies in the future, their support is nothing compared to those of her fellow riders. And true to Karigan's form, she does not tread lightly. Karigan is a feisty and wonderful character to follow.
Mirror Sight is a build up book to a potential future yet it is no less entertaining. It does seem like a pause from the overall storyline, but it is filled with action, dark encounters and gripping emotions. Going into the next book, readers will remember the future that awaits Sacoridia should they be unable to change the past. And with that knowledge, the overall stakes and anticipation will increase.
