Book tags are the prefect way to inspire me to write about books I love. Tiffany over at The Bookish Life of Tiffany tagged me in the Get to Know Me Book Tag. You can find her post here.
Favorite book of all time?
My favorite book of all time would have to be Dragons of Autumn Twilight by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. Had I never discovered this book, I don't think I would have become as immersed in the fantasy genre as I am.
Favorite book five years ago?
Thank goodness for tracking books through apps. Taking a cruise down memory lane on Goodreads I would have to say my favorite would have been Promise of Blood by Brian McClellan. At the time I was amazed by the flintlock fantasy he brought to life.
Favorite series?
I have so many, it would be easier to name them by genre. Urban Fantasy is hands down The Hollows by Kim Harrison. High Fantasy would be The Dragonlance Chronicles by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. Science Fiction would be The Murderbot series.
Last book you read?
By the time this is posted I'll most likely have finished a different book. But for this moment in time the last book I read was Dead Meat Day 3 by Nick Clausen.
Last comic book you read?
I'm not one to read many comics. Because I read so fast I don't retain the stories of comic books well. I would have to say the last one I tried was part of the Fable series. Per my Goodreads list I left off at Fables Vol 7: Arabian Nights. No, I don't remember a single thing about it. 😭
What book influenced your life?
That would be a toss up between Dragons of Autumn Twilight and The Long Patrol. I picked them up at the same tag sale and read them around the same time. They gave me my love of fantasy novels. And they started my adventures into used book stores in search of different books in the series.
Name a book that made you ugly cry.
The last one to make me ugly cry was All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. The way the author built up relationships in the book made them all the more powerful when it came to it's conclusion.
Name a book that made you laugh.
Any book in the Murderbot series makes me laugh. I love sarcastic humor and Murderbot has a wonderful amount of snark in each book.
Name a book so good you dreamed about it.
Can't say I really know. I read so many books at the same time, I'm sure they're blending into my dreams at some point or another.
Name a book you DNFed.
Believe it or not there are quite a few. Most of the time if I DNF early I just remove them from my Goodreads list, but if I make it a decent way through I'll give the book a review. The last book I DNFed was Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake. It did not hold true to the horror novel it proclaimed to be. You can read my review of it here.
What book are you most excited to read?
At the moment it is Trouble with the Cursed by Kim Harrison. I'm a long standing Kim Harrison fan. I look forward to each new book.
