A Distortion of Fate Book Review
Thank you to M.J. for providing me with a copy of this book! I voluntarily leave this review!
M.J. Lindsey weaves a story with complex characters, blending past and present to show how their lives have led to their current predicaments. Each has suffered loss and betrayal in different ways. Calverous, the boy who discovered a plot that crippled him for life and tore away all he once knew of his world. Niklaus, the noble whose ambitions clouded his judgment and destroyed those close to him. Attilatia, the girl who stretches the ability of distortion and seeks to find a cure for what tore away her family.
The world readers will enter is dark and teeming with those who seek power and influence despite the consequences to others. This is not for those seeking a light read. To pick up A Distortion of Fate means immersing oneself in ever growing lore, politics and history of a world in which atrocities were committed. And meeting those who may be the only ones possible to begin healing the ill gotten gains.
A Distortion of Fate is heavily focused on the development of characters, and politics also plays a key role. They serve to push characters forward or backward on their chosen paths. Influencing from afar and twisting the story in unpredictable ways The point of views draws ever closer as the story progresses, yet still remain far enough apart that readers will be eagerly awaiting the next novel not to mention the unexpected twist at the very end that will leave readers demanding more. Readers who enjoy complex fantasy plots and characters must read A Distortion of Fate.
